  1. A great camera bag if you’re only taking the bare minimum out and about. I purchased this for my Nikon D90 (with the 18-105VR kit lens) and it’s a perfect fit.

As per usual, it’s manufactured to Crumpler’s usual high standards. The only down side is that there is’nt too much room inside for accessories. When containing a large camera, it’s maxed out with a couple of memory cards, a lens cap and maybe a spare battery.

If you’re wanting the bag for use on short trips out, its a great lightweight, sturdy and protective bag which is more than fit for purpose.

I use this bag in “waist mode” which is good for walking with both hands free and no swing to slow you down. This allows you to negotiate uneven surfaces. Mounted on the right hip, it’s very quick to open the double-centred zipper and lift your camera out with your right hand ready to shoot. With practise perhaps 2 seconds! This is far quicker than my over the shoulder bags of the past which required a lot of fumbling to open and extract. The case itself isn’t as well padded as I would have liked, all the padding is for the wearer which means it feels great but the bottom end where the lens is and the outer shell which will bump into things feel too light. The waist strap is about 2 inches wide and comfortable

Very pleased with this bag, it has long straps which shorten easily, very strong material. The shape makes it very comfortable to ‘wear’. I dont use the leg strap and that tucks very neatly into the lining of the bag. I have a canon 450d with a 18-200mm lens and it fits very well, even have room for a couple of other little bits, cables etc.

I purchased this bag to go with my Canon Eos 500D & 18-55 mm lens.

It’s a well made good looking bag that has plenty of room, it’s seperate compartment contains in mine: spare SD cards, SD card adapter, camera manual, lens pen, battery.

The zips feel big and sturdy and are easy to use, the bag material extends a little over the zip to reduce water ingress. The bag looks good and unique. (a friend of mine has the same bag too).

When fully open the bag will also not spill items inside.

Wearing the bag over one shoulder is comfortable and it sits nicely against the body (it’s back is meshy to reduce sweat). It also (part I like the most) swings round easily to your front so you can keep an eye on it or access it easily.

Wearing it Rambo style (round waist and leg), takes it off your back in case you need to wear a rucksack. It is easy to access this way but whether you’d wear it much this way is another thing (useful to have though).

    Drawbacks:

The tag with product info is filled with innuendo which is weird.

The zip pullers are large metal things and clatter about when walking giving a jingling sound which gets irritating.

Not fully weatherproof, though it seems like it would put up with a little rain I wouldn’t trust it in a heavy shower so a rain cover would of been nice. (though I guess most people wouldn’t have it out in such weather or would throw it in a rucksack).

Summary: A fantastic bag for when out and about, looks great, easy to use and takes care of your camera.

But you may want to tape up the zip pullers and bring a plastic bag to wrap it in if it rains.

Crumpler have listened and behold the Jimmy Bo 500! it is an ober the shoulder bag and a bum bag – whatever you fancy!

It is so easy to use and I can get my Nikon D40 with kit lens attached and the spare telephoto lens in, plus my basic accessories! It is so easy to use and very simple to load and unload the camera from!

Padded and protective – I have a bright red one and it reminds me of a codpiece if worn as a bum bag, but go for it!!!
